David L Denhartigh

I hired Mr. David DenHartigh to represent me in a child custody case. Over the course of several months, Mr. DenHartigh has proven to be ineffective as counsel, notably when he failed to file a proof of service in one of the two cases in which he represented me. The hearing was set for October 29, 2...015, and neither of the opposing parties were present. The court did not proceed with the child custody modification matter due to their absence. On November 6, 2015 I was sent a letter by the judge, notifying me that there was no proof of service filed on the second matter. In addition to this Mr. DenHartigh has lost sensitive and crucial documents on several occasions, he was verbally reprimanded by the Judge about this issue on December 8, 2015. When I terminated his employment as counsel on December 18, 2015, Mr. DenHartigh had an issue with complying to my request to withdrawal as counsel and complete the necessary paperwork. It was not until January 14, 2016, did he finally comply with my request until he was verbally ordered by the judge during a status review with the court. I believe that Mr. DenHartigh has been incompetent and acted negligibly in my case, and has been ineffective as counsel. After a quick google search I have found that he had his law license suspended by the Oregon and Wisconsin Supreme Courts for 90 days due to an issue nearly identical to mine.

I had a hard time finding an attorney to represent me with out a huge retainer. I was being sued for a large amount of money and the plaintiff had a lot of money and hired a large law firm. David was not intimidated and did not ask for a ridiculous retainer fee. he immediately went on the offensive, ...counter sued. and got the other side to drop their suit. Took about two weeks...... thanks David!

This lawyer agreed to represent me on a seat belt violation I received just days before leaving the country. He was able to get the court date continued twice until I returned nine months later, despite my return date to the US being changed several times. He was prompt in his response to my e-mail... inquiries and kept me well informed of continuances. At one point, the court mistakenly revoked my driving privilege and he jumped right on it, having the court restore my license. When I returned to the US and went to court the violation was dismissed.
