Martin Carl Habekost

I retained Martin Habekost to represent me in a DUI case. We went to trial where the difference between revoked for life or a 3 yr suspension hinged on a piece of paper. My certificate of completion for a diversion class. Martin Habekost told me there was no proof of completion, that my file had bee...n destroyed in a courthouse fire. However, he was able to locate a piece of paper from the past that stated “Conviction”. The trial resulted in a conviction and I was revoked for life. 10 mins after the trial as we walked down the back steps to our cars, he let me know he walked with a permanent limp due to a drunk driver. Why did he feel it was necessary now, after the trial to mention this? 14 yrs later, I was at the courthouse on another matter and asked to see my file, just on a whim. I couldn’t believe it when i opened this manilla envelope and there was my certificate i needed to prove completion during my trial. Not only did it NOT burn up in a fire, but the piece of paper that Martin Habekost produced during my trial that stared “Conviction” was not in my file. Why would my attorney provide evidence to the court against me? Evidence that clearly was not even real? Never existed. I have called him to talk about what he did to me, but get no response.
