Kaori Tanabe Eder

I’m so grateful for being here in Oregon and having Kaori Eder as my attorney. I’m Japanese and so is my ex. I believed I had to follow the Japanese divorce law, which would have worked too well for my ex. It’s Kaori who told me that I could file my divorce case here in Oregon. She is not only a ca...lm, cautious, knowledgeable and very professional lawyer, but she also worked like a psychologist. She often took me back to a proper path whenever I got lost. She stayed focused until the very last moment in many situations including deposition and mediation, which I didn’t find from the opponent counsel. I especially appreciated how she summarized letters from the opponent counsel when the letter was full of complicated matters. I still remember when she advised me to take a deep breath before I read the proposal letter from the OC because the letter was full of things that could cause grief. Thanks to her, I was able to be well- prepared before I read the letter. Her advice worked like a charm. I don’t know if she does this for every clients, but thanks to her, I believe I didn’t make any big misconceptions caused by a language barrier. Her words and attitude towards me were full of compassion, so I was not alone during the hardest time of my life, thanks to her. She converted my negative power to a positive one and pulled me up from the chaos. I’m fully satisfied with the outcome and I’m happier than during the last three years while my ex was betraying me by having a Japanese mistress who has her husband in Japan. If I had not found Kaori and had followed Japanese divorce law, my future would have been a miserable one with a small amount of division of assets. オレゴンにいる、日本人の方へ。 元夫は私たちの離婚は日本の法律に則って行われると信じていたようで、それに合わせて、狡猾に財産操作をしていました。 日本人同士の離婚でも、オレゴンに一定期間居住していれば、ここで離婚訴訟を起こすことが出来ます。 オレゴンの離婚の法律とかおりさんのおかげで、狡猾な計画を阻止することができました。 かおりさんが日本語と日本の文化を理解してくださったことがどんなにありがたかったことか。異国の地で離婚という大事に臨まねばならないとき、豊富な知識と、冷静な判断に元づくアドバイス、そして、暖かい言葉と態度で私を励まし、助けてくださいました。 離婚に至った責任は私にも半分あります。ですが、３年にわたり、日本への出張の名のもとの売春婦、ダブル不倫が発覚した時には、信頼をおいていた配偶者の背徳行為にひどく傷つき、気が変になり、ドクターの元を尋ねました。かおりさんは私の心の状態に、常に気を遣ってくださいました。 オレゴンには不倫を裁く法律がないのが残念ですが、日本で訴えたとき、とれたであろう慰謝料の金額とほぼ同じ額も配偶者サポートの名のもとにいただくことができました。配偶者の不倫による離婚を経験した皆さんの多くがおっしゃることですが、裏切られたショックは、消えます。それよりも、お金をいただいた方が賢いと思います。 私もかおりさんに会うまでは途方に暮れ、本当に惨めで弱虫でしたが、かおりさんをはじめオレゴンの女性たちに強くしてもらいました。 大丈夫！かおりさんが助けてくれます。

An amazing lawyer!! She surpassed all of my expectations. Very knowledgable and smart. Kaori was very helpful toward bringing an end to my case. Ex is a high conflict personality that often rubbed me the wrong way. Any time I acted on any impulse that wasn't in my best interest, Kaori let me know and offered suggestions for alternatives. Divorce / custody issues are hardly un-emotio...nal, but it's good to have someone in your corner who calls it as she sees it. Our case didn't go in front of a judge, but was pretty confident if it had. It's really good to get an accurate appraisal of the situation from a calm and knowledgeable professional.

I retained Kaori to gain sole legal and physical custody of my 2 year old son. I was in the midst of managing a new independent consultant business, relocating out-of-state to be closer to my family, being a single parent and fighting a ridiculous custody battle with an erratic, irrational and deadb...eat ex.
