Can a defendant attach unauthenticated letters to an answer and counterclaim to a complaint? Can a plaintiff move to strike?

The attachments aren't proof at this point - just indications that the Plaintiff thinks they are relevant - but everything still needs to be proved...
How long does an estate take to settle? And, how can I tell if the lawyer is reputable?

Not sure who your lawyer is but probate can take a while. It doesn't sound like your case should take this long and in fact you case may not have...

Just because you are named in the suit doesn't mean they are suing you for something related to owing money. They may have named you to make sure...
