Alimony 20%

In Oregon alimony is called "spousal support". It is based on several statutory factors, but unless the parties settle on the amount and duration of spousal support, the court has the discretion to decide what it will be. Both men and women are eligible to receive spousal support based on the factors unique to their situation. A party needs a good, seasoned advocate when the issue of spousal support must be litigated and I can provide the representation you need to settle or litigate.

Child Custody 20%

All issues related to custody of and parenting time with children are difficult and require an ability to consider the child. I represent both parents and children in this difficult area of family law practice. The goal is to try to take the child out of the controversy and place the needs of the child at the forefront of the parents' decision-making.

Child Support 20%

In Oregon child support is based on guidelines created by the state, but child support is more than a calculation, it is a commitment to the welfare of the child and often a difficult one. The child support calculation is a presumption only, and until the finances of the family are fully considered, it is only the first step in determining the amount of child support.

Domestic Violence 20%

Domestic violence is an issue that can arise before, during and following divorce and in other family relationships that do not involve divorce. It is often a criminal matter. It materially affects custody and parenting time. Also it can be, and has been used as a tool to gain the upper hand in divorce and separation situations. When domestic violence is an issue, you need someone to help you through the process because it can affect the rest of your life.

Excellent Attorney!

Deanna is my attorney in a conflicted child custody case. She is very intuitive and balanced in her approach. She quickly grasped what was going on and identified the issues with our parenting agreement that were causing conflict. She easily came up with solutions that were simple and fair. She can... see the big picture and has a genuine concern for the child involved. The documents she writes are very clear and concise. She went into the case with an awareness of the emotional cost of litigation and did her best to work out a settlement. Her office also compiled documentation for the custody evaluation in great detail. Deanna is a well rounded attorney and I would recommend her to anyone in a high conflict custody case.

Exceptional Skill and Service

Deanna Ballou Jensen is an exceptional lawyer. With her leadership and skills we were able to overcome all odds in a custody dispute, and her advice regarding other family issues was extremely helpful. She is professional, responsive and on target. We have always felt that she had our best interests ...at heart, that she listened to us and accurately defined our needs and our wants (sometimes different). Her advice was solid and useful. She was careful to be clear about what was possible and what was likely, and also when our expectations could not be met. Her abilities in court showed that she was a good planner, that she was a good judge of character and that she could roll with changing circumstances. Her performance was exemplary, and she proved more than once that she is a winner. Deanna also showed restraint and good judgment. She was willing to risk professional relationships for what she believed to be right on behalf of her client. I have found that it is a rare person who is really willing to risk themselves for what they believe, and Deanna is such a person. Jensen and Leiberan was always professional and polite, punctual and accurate. I absolutely recommend Mrs. Jensen, and Jensen and Leiberan, to anyone. You will not find anyone better to represent you than them.

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"I endorse this lawyer. We worked on a case together with very high conflict issues where Ms. Jensen represented the children. Her investigation was extremely detailed, and she worked very hard to make sure the children were protected and advocated for their best interests. In the end, she helped shorten the litigation time to a fraction of what it could have been. She is very professional and her years of experience are a great asset."

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"I had the pleasure of working with Deanna on a difficult and complex matter. Deanna demonstrated not only a thorough knowledge of the law (which she has in spades), but also a uniquely even-tempered and rational disposition which brought about a successful resolution to a very difficult situation. Deanna is a passionate advocate for her clients, while at the same time providing compassion, understanding and piece of mind to those individuals who seek her counsel. Deanna also has a knack for finding creative solutions to difficult issues. She is able to "think outside the box." This is not only a tremendous asset to an attorney practicing family law, but also one that is regarded highly by judges and opposing counsel alike. I strongly endorse this attorney."

Relationship: Co-worker

"Deanna Jensen has been my law partner for nearly six years now. In that time I have seen both the genuine caring with which she relates to her clients and the deft legal skills with which she navigates, settles and tries cases. She works very hard to settle cases. However, when she goes to a hearing she is always very prepared and ready to fight hard for the client."
