For over a decade, Brandy has worked with businesses and individuals to provide the support they need to navigate the working world.
Brandy began her legal career with the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and after moving to Oregon served as a civil rights investigator for the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries. For a number of years, she represented employees in discrimination, wage and hour, and unemployment claims in private practice.
Over the years Brandy noticed a trend: many of the disputes she worked to resolve had their root in instances where employers didn’t act maliciously towards their employees but simply did not know that their actions were unlawful. Brandy realized that if she could work with business owners who wanted to do the right thing but needed proactive guidance, she could help business owners and employees by avoiding disputes and creating better workplaces for all.
With that belief and a commitment to helping both businesses and employees thrive, Brandy founded Pirtle-Guiney Law LLC to work with small businesses and individuals from across Oregon who are looking for personalized legal support that is effective, straightforward, and forward-thinking. She loves being a problem solver for her clients and watching their careers and businesses grow.
Brandy brings her legal expertise and commitment to equity and justice to her community involvement as well. She currently serves as the President of the Board of Pride Foundation, a regional community foundation that has invested more than $70 million to build a better, safer, and more equitable world for LGTBQ+ individuals. Drawing on her professional experience, she helped negotiate the merger between Pride Foundation and Oregon’s Equity Foundation in 2016.
Brandy lives in NE Portland with her wife, their young son and his kitten Hamilton, and a city flock of chickens. She’s a fan of the Boston Red Sox but can’t wait for MLB in PDX.

I hired Brandy and Davis Law Firm pretty much at the last minute to represent me in a progress hearing at a local university. "I first worked with Brandy at the Bureau of Labor and Industries and then we worked together in a small firm setting. I have known Brandy for years now and she continues to impress me with her knowledge, passion and dedication to each legal matter she tackles. She has a calm, compassionate and candid way of interacting with her clients. I would highly recommend Brandy as an advisor to any small business, especially with regard to employment matters. "I worked with Brandy from 2008 - 2009. She is hardworking, intelligent, and has an amazing memory. She is honest, but is also sensitive to her client's needs. I would recommend her any legal matter, but especially for a business or employment law matter. I regularly refer business to her."
