I am extremely disappointed in my experience working with Attorney Kim on my parenting and custody case. From early on, I felt pressured to agree to conditions that did not align with my needs or intuition, seemingly for the sake of moving the case forward rather than protecting my long-term inter...ests. Unfortunately, many of the decisions I was advised to accept have since created significant challenges for me. During the initial consultation, I was reassured that while litigation can be expensive, the firm prioritized client care and would remain mindful of financial limitations. However, that was not my experience. For months, I expressed concern that my case was likely headed to court, and those concerns were dismissed. Then, with very little notice, I was informed that court was inevitable and required to produce a $10,000 payment within 5–7 business days or risk being dropped as a client. When I was unable to meet that demand on such short notice, I was in fact dropped. What was most concerning was being contacted afterward and asked if I would like to rehire them if I came up with the funds. After being released under those circumstances, that question felt out of touch and inappropriate. Ultimately, I was left navigating a series of unfavorable legal circumstances that developed under their guidance, without representation, and facing a court date 6 months later than late as I had already waited 6-14 months for it depending on how you look at the facts. I also want to note that Attorney Kim was working under the direction of the head attorney at McKean-Smith, and throughout the process, I was given repeated assurances that my financial reality would be considered. That did not prove to be true. This experience left me feeling unsupported, misled, and unprepared at a critical time in my case.
