Wendy M. Kent

Wendy Kent was raised on a dairy farm in northern New York near the Adirondack Mountains. On this true working family farm, Wendy learned at a young age how to operate anything with an engine, such as a tractor, crawler, snowmobile, or her favorite – a motorcycle. Because nobody told her that she couldn’t do something, Wendy figured she could do anything. That included pursuing her ambition of being a lawyer. At the age of 17, Wendy drove across the country to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder. She then proceeded farther west to attend law school in Oregon.

Wendy has been a civil defense litigator – living her dream – for more than 25 years. She takes great pleasure in getting to know her clients and tenaciously defending their interests. Wendy’s philosophy on life is that everyone has something unique to bring to the table. She has two wonderful sons who share her zest for life. She enjoys gardening and Bikram yoga, but mostly riding her Triumph motorcycles.

After more than two decades of honing her craft as a civil litigator defending claims in the Pacific Northwest, Wendy Kent joined Bodyfelt Mount as a partner in 2015. Her trial practice emphasizes employment, professional malpractice, and personal injury defense.

Wendy has successfully defended claims alleging employment discrimination, wrongful termination, professional malpractice, construction site injuries, premises liability, and product liability. She also has defended numerous personal injury and wrongful death claims arising out of automobile and trucking accidents. For nine years, Wendy served as lead trial attorney and managing attorney for Zurich North America Insurance Company in Portland, Oregon.

Professional and Community Activities:
Wendy is a member of the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel, the Transportation Lawyers Association, and the Defense Research Institute. She also participated in NITA – the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. In law school, Wendy served as an associate editor of Environmental Law, the nation’s oldest and predominant law review dedicated solely to environmental issues.

Passionate about helping young people, Wendy volunteers as a High School Mock Trial Competition judge and coach. She is a past board member of The Portland Kitchen, a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing a comprehensive culinary after-school program for high school youth.
