not helpful

I did not find Ms. Williams to be effective in "mediating," as she did nothing to explore any difference my soon-to-be-ex-spouse and I expressed; she rather parroted what she heard, and provided no further input. (The fact that Ms. Williams was out of town twice during our mediation proceedings did ...nothing to clarify or streamline the process.) My soon-to-be-ex and I differed only in minor issues which we were able to resolve on our own-through no effort on Ms. Williams's part. Additionally, her follow ups were inconsistent in timing, her "edits" of the documents we provided were confusing and incomplete, and she misspelled my name and provided incorrect dates. I think she's sloppy in her practice and would not recommend utilizing her services.

Terrible!

A poor mediator - Sharon was hired to perform mediation services during my divorce. The first red flag came when she greeted me with "this will be a lot easier if you leave your principles at the door". I have found that in life, those who have principles and morals tend to be good people in genera...l, unfortunately she showed none herself. She claims to be unbiased but is anything but. She dismissed everything I said and refused to look at documentation I brought that proved my ex was lying to her, second red flag. The third red flag was her drafting an agreement and having it signed by my ex and then tossing it down in front of me telling me to sign it prior to my agreement to the terms. She actually drew up all the paperwork before even telling me what the offer was. A few months after the mediation was over, we were forced back to her to resolve yet another issue caused by my ex's lies. This time Sharron could not deny that my ex was a piece of crap and I could detect a bit of remorse in her voice, but by then Sharon's damage was already done. I did settle my case, but not because of anything Sharon did. It simply was less expensive to take the crappy deal Sharon forced on me than to fight it in the courts. I could tell during the mediation that she thought a lot of herself and her "years of experience". Unfortunately it did not make her a fair person or a good mediator. I regret not walking out within the first 10 minutes.

Good divorce mediator, professional, flexible

We hired Sharon for our divorce mediation. She was very clear up front that we needed to work with her as she was a facilitator and would not be taking one person's side or offering specific advice for each of us. (That came from our individual lawyers, retained to review documents for each of us) ... Sharon gave us advice as we started the process, asked us not to discuss the matter at home but rather in our sessions and kept the process moving forward. On the downside, Sharon was all too willing to subcontract work out to her fellow attorneys rather than exploring if that was even necessary. We had to manage her outsourcing closely. Her office also forgot to pay an appraisal bill that was given to us *after* the divorce was final.
