Biography
My practice is principally devoted to estate planning and related areas, including issues associated with federal and state estate taxes and income taxes. Many of my clients require sophisticated and complex estate plans, while others need only basic wills and/or relatively simple trusts. In addition to estate planning, I assist clients in administering estates and trusts, either by advising fiduciaries (executors and trustees) or by advising beneficiaries. I also have considerable experience in modifying trusts and litigating trust and estate controversies in the probate court, the Oregon Court of Appeals, and the Oregon Supreme Court, as well as resolving tax controversies at the Internal Revenue Service, the U. S. Tax Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
