If I could give negative stars. I would

My experience with this attorney was extremely negative. Many of the positive reviews appear to come from personal acquaintances rather than actual clients, which raises serious concerns. Public records from the Oregon State Bar reflect multiple disciplinary actions, and he has been permanently suspe...nded from practicing law in Washington State. Throughout my case, communication was consistently poor. Hearing dates were often disclosed the day before—or not at all—with the expectation that I would immediately rearrange my schedule. When I was unable to do so, he became verbally aggressive and abusive. Phone calls and emails frequently went unanswered for weeks or months, only for him to later claim he had never received them. He repeatedly provided incorrect information and then denied having said it. He took no accountability for missed deadlines, overlooked filings, or a failure to understand basic facts of the case. At no point did I feel that he was invested in my case or genuinely interested in achieving a successful outcome. This pattern made it impossible to rely on his guidance, and I ultimately hired a far more reliable, competent, and professional attorney. The money was wasted, but the lesson was learned. After conducting my own research, I found a pattern of complaints that closely mirrored my experience. Based on my firsthand dealings, I found him unprofessional, unreliable, disorganized, and dishonest. I would strongly caution anyone considering retaining him. I do not understand how he is still permitted to practice law in Oregon.

Check complaints before you hire

I hired Mark in 2018 to represent me. I told him wha I wanted him to do from day 1 he refused so this has dragged out for 2.5 years. Had to hire another attorney. if I had seen all the complaints before I would have never hired him my wife thought he was her friend. He either is incompetent or just... dishonest

I do NOT recommend under any circumstances.

I'll start with what I saw him do that was good. He showed up for all court appearances. Other than that he was disorganized and unprofessional. Some of his instructions left me feeling very uncomfortable. He almost never returned phone calls or requests for contact. I never knew what was going on or... what his strategy was. After 14 months of waiting for trial and 3 resets he tells me on the morning of trial that he is not prepared to argue and wants me to plead guilty. Plea deals are suppose to be thoughtful and well negotiated and in many cases over the course of several discussions with the prosecutor. Mine was impromptu. I absolutely do NOT recommend him under any circumstances.

He doesn’t care

He told us he was working hard on our loved ones case and was billing as if he was working hard, yet he would go months without a return call or email. We show up to court and his defense was so weak he may as well have been working for the other side. An unbelievable waste of time, money and energy.... He also had some very questionable billing practices. Charging us hours for interviews we found out lasted 5 minutes, etc. This guy should not be practicing law.

Absolute in his duties and is like apitbull in the courtroom

Mark defended me with vigor and was excellent in his duties of an attorney. He gave me back my life and gave me a second chance to live as a normal human being.
