Initially, I had no idea of what to expect once I decided to pursue my dissolution of marriage. The information available on line and in books on the subject of the Male side of divorce is overwhelming and often conflicting, so I decided to do what a rational person would do—find an attorney. After reviewing several of their recommendations and learning that their cost per hour was more than I earned weekly, with the total projected cost well beyond my expectations, I considered filing on my own. In our initial interview she listened to the case specifics, my concerns, and questions. With follow up questioning she was able to determine the issues and merits of my case. By the end of the initial interview she addressed my concerns, answered my questions, and proposed, what I regarded, a reasonable course of action. Based on her recommendations a comprehensive and equitable filing was produced. In a little more than two months I received notice that my dissolution of marriage was final. Shelly Perkins represented me in my divorce and from the minute I met her, I knew I wanted to retain her. She is very knowledgeable, direct, and explains things in a way that are easy to understand.
