Shelly Kay Perkins

Ms. Perkins was hired, performed less than three months of work - mainly through her associate Adrienne, who was excellent - and then quit abruptly less than a month before the trial. She did not understand or advance my case at all. In fact, she undermined it. Do not hire this attorney if you ar...e involved in a high conflict case. This attorney can not understand or handle aggressivley unethical opposition. Waste of time, money, energy, all to end up far worse off had I not hired her. Avoid.

Let me start by saying "I was referred to Shelly by another divorce Attorney". I knew my divorce was going to be a messy joke. Shelly was very understanding about my case. Shelly really kept me on track with what we needed to do to win the case. Every time I wanted to be vengeful, she would point... this out and explain what the Judge wanted to hear in court and what would just irritate them. I am very thankful for that advise. She was direct in questioning during the court process, so as to not rack up my bill with useless time, (unlike the other sides Lawyer). I felt she was very professional in her work and the same of all her office staff. I was amazed at how quick her office responded to any concerns I had, which for my situation was what I really needed. I was extremely happy with the settlement I received, which was what Shelly told me I most likely would get from the moment I hired her.

Initially, I had no idea of what to expect once I decided to pursue my dissolution of marriage. By the end of the initial interview she addressed my concerns, answered my questions, and proposed, what I regarded, a reasonable course of action. Based on her recommendations a comprehensive and equitable filing was produced. In a little more than two months I received notice that my dissolution of marriage was final. As you read thru the reviews about Shelly Perkins you’re going to find several common threads of thought; she is deeply experienced and professionally competent, she likes winning, she is direct and will not waste your time, and she will work for your desired outcome. My advice to you is the same advice I received from another of her clients, “Listen to her; she knows what she is doing”. I did. Finally, I must also commend her staff for being instrumental in communicating developments and keeping me informed as the case progressed. Yes, Shelly and her team have earned my recommendation!

Shelly Perkins represented me in my divorce and from the minute I met her, I knew I wanted to retain her. She is very knowledgeable, direct, and explains things in a way that are easy to understand. She is fierce, and strong, and will have you ready for trial if you can't come to a settlement outsi...de of court. Shelly is not the type of attorney to overcharge, in fact, she has her assistants do a lot of the behind the scenes work so that the rate is lower. Shelly represented me as my Legal Council during my 2015 divorce and child custody case. My X-husband moved out in May, 2015 and had been pressuring me for a divorce. He called me on a Wednesday to tell me that he had retained an attorney and would be having me served with the papers. He wanted to... give me a "heads up as I just started a new job." I called a friend who referred me to Shelly. Shelly agreed to see me the next day, Thursday. She had all the papers drawn up and was prepared to serve HIM on Friday. I chose to wait until Sunday in order to avoid serving him at work. Her team got the papers served on Sunday morning. My X-husband terminated his relationship with his attorney. Shelly adjusted some things in the decree, met with my X-husband to go over the paperwork which included division of a home, personal property, a business, child custody, visitation and support.
