I have worked both sides of the isle, as a defender and a prosecutor. I have the experience necessary to tell you the hard truths about your case, and when to recommend that we go to trial on the case.
I help family's reunite in dependency proceedings.
I am here to protect you from the State.
When you are being accused of criminal conduct it is terrifying. The State has an attorney heading your prosecution. It has numerous trained investigators that, once they suspect you, start looking at all the evidence from the perspective that all roads lead to you. It also, in almost all cases, has vastly more money than you to spend on the result of the case. The State is the one that has made the laws that it is prosecuting you with. Government employees are the ones interpreting the laws, and how they apply to your case. When you're charged criminally the State has the upper hand.
This unlevel playing field is part of the reason I do what I do. Every victory, be that a not guilty verdict or a plea deal that is in the best interest of my client rather than the State is why I do this. Each time the underdog wins I smile. I have had my own run-ins with law enforcement and the government that has left a sour taste in my mouth. We are all in this together. One thing I try to tell all my clients is that if the police come knocking they are there to protect and serve everybody but you. You need to protect yourself by requesting counsel immediately. That is the number one thing you can do to make my life, and in turn your life, easier if the matter gets to court.
As an attorney, I zealously defend the rights of my clients. Currently, I am defending the people of the 7th Judicial District in the Columbia Gorge as an associate at Morris, Starns & Sullivan, PC.
I hold a Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) from the University of Oregon (2012); and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in both Biology and Environmental Science from Oregon State University (2009).
Thank you for taking an interest in my services, don't hesitate to call.
