Jason Grosz

As the chair of a condominium association I had the great good fortune to work with Jason for 10 years. He was ( and still is) the Association's Attorney. I worked with him on a number of routine COA issues and he consistently provided clarity when interpreting applicable Oregon statues. In addition..., because of his extensive experience with homeowner associations, he was able to provide suggestions on strategies that had proven successful in similar circumstances. The most challenging issue he handled was our construction defect case. He represented us from the initial damage report through to the completion of the repair project. Over several years of the ordeal Jason not only provided excellent legal counsel but equally important he was a valued partner to our Board throughout the process. Throughout my extensive interactions with Jason he was consistently responsive; I could count on him to answer phone calls and emails in a timely manner. He also excelled in explaining complex issues to an anxious and angry community. Though always professional Jason also demonstrated empathy for the plight of the owners in a manner that helped defuse tense situations. Above all else Jason is an attorney with integrity. As we worked through complex and contentious issues I could depend on Jason to be honest and to be a strong advocate for the interests of the COA. It is my opinion, and that of my Board, that we would not have had a successful outcome to our construction defect issues had we not been fortunate to have Jason as our attorney. I have the highest regard for Jason.

Our HOA hired Jason to help guide us through a major envelop replacement project that involved a material five figure assessment. His wise counsel to the Board and willingness to be involved in lengthy discussions with all homeowners and the Board. His experience also helped the Board work through ...all appropriate planning as well as contingency planning. At the end of our project, we were on budget and as we concluded our project, uniformly the homeowners felt they were kept informed and engaged throughout the project. This result was the result of his guidance and counsel. I would highly recommend his services. He operates with the highest integrity and professional conduct.

While I was chair of our HOA, our community had to under take a complete siding replacement. It was a challenging time for the board and all of the homeowners; taxing emotionally and financially. I have a unique perspective from which to assess Jason grosz's attorney skills; first, as HOA Chair during a lawsuit against our builders and their subcontractors, and then, several years later, on the opposing side, when I had a Fair Housing complaint against the HOA Board. First, Jason represe...nted our Homeowners' Association in a construction defects lawsuit against our condominiums' builders and their subcontractors several years ago. His steady personality, communication skills, and deep knowledge of our legal and construction issues , were a calming force for nervous homeowners. As Chair of the HOA at the time, I was deposed for several hours in front of around 14 opposing attorneys representing builders and subcontractors. Jason's presence and balanced guidance made a potentially daunting experience manageable. At HOA membership meetings, he explained complex legal and construction issues in simple ways we all could understand. Jason successfully negotiated an excellent settlement which paid for all the necessary repairs and legal costs, leaving our HOA able to pay for all repairs without spending money from our own budget. The HOA has kept Jason on to advise it on all legal matters. More recently, I had a Fair Housing complaint against the current HOA Board, which allowed me to observe his negotiating skills in a series of correspondence between my attorney and Jason as legal counsel for the HOA. Again, I was impressed with his steadfastness of purpose and even temperament. While I was not privy to his advice to the Board members, the correspondence and conversations with my attorney reminded me just how qualified and skilled Jason is.
