I got a serious medical dx and needed to get my health and end of life care paperwork in order quickly before facing surgery. Elin was extremely efficient and present. While I was grappling with the emotional, she made sure everything was in order so I didn't have to think about it and could focus on... what was in front of me. Elin explained how the law works when someone is not able to make healthcare decisions for themselves - that was extremely valuable and helped me make choices and designations. I recommend Elin to all my friends who are single, recently divorced, life-partnered w/o legal marriage or who come from difficult family situations. Medical designations are so important and it doesn't take long to get through the paperwork when you have someone helping you who is as trustworthy and thorough as Elin. She makes the process far less daunting. Previously, Elin helped me navigate aspects of my father's death, how his estate and health was managed and the family drama which can come up when a parent is in long term care. She explained a lot about the law around issues of elder abuse and processes related to care, power of attorney, etc. Very helpful. My father didn't have any end of life paperwork. It made his death a nightmare for us. I didn't want to do that, I wanted to make sure my wishes were clear. As we age, it is our responsibility to take the small amount of time to have our wishes legally clarified and reduce the burden on the people we leave behind. Similarly when our situations change (divorce, illness, etc) we want to make sure the right people are called upon. I can't speak highly enough about Elin, she's professional and no-nonsense, yet kind and accessible. My gratitude to her for those qualities during my own time of crisis is immeasurable.
