With my small business, I've worked with many lawyers over the years and always had a bad experience (i.e. they billed me 5x the initial quote without any warning during the process, they gave me incorrect advise so that I would pay for something unnecessary, etc.) Finally, I was referred to Jeanilou..., and although I only met with her for a consultation, I could tell she actually cares about small businesses and what is best for the client. After spending hours reviewing our documents and speaking with us, she ended up advising us not to move forward with our case. She didn't take a retainer and there was no hidden bill. She also did not make me feel stupid for past mistakes or for not understanding something and rather took the time to listen to my concerns and then kindly explain the best solution. The only downside is that I wish I had found her sooner! Highly recommend!

As a non-native English speaker, Jeanilou has a way of explaining legal concepts that is simple to understand. I needed to leave my joint business between my partner and I, while also navigating additional factors such as my initial investment, company debt, and being a guarantor on the lease for our... retail store. Without legal knowledge, I had a very narrow view of what I could do in this situation. Jeanilou drafted an agreement that provided a clean separation with a transfer of shares and removal from loans and lines of credit. She also added protections for me from potential future debt and default on debt repayment. The most helpful things Jeanilou did were to let me know that my situation wasn't as bad as I thought, and provided me with several options that I didn't realize were available to me. I was able to talk through my options with her and come to an agreement that my former business partner and I could sign on to, while also satisfying my need for financial protections.

I met with Jeanilou regarding wanting to dispute a contract I had signed with a business coach. It was a very sensitive matter for me. I was unclear about my rights and what kind of options I had for moving forward with my dispute. Jeanilou was so kind, validated my concerns and very clearly laid out... some options for me. She was super generous with her time and knowledge and I left the meeting feeling informed and empowered. She is absolutely wonderful to work with and I highly recommend her! Thank you, Jeanilou!

Jeanilou is such a pleasure to work with. I've had experience with a handful of lawyers and no one has made me feel as comfortable as Jeanilou.
