Gregory Kim has over 30 years experience as a corporate and securities attorney representing emerging growth companies and public companies in private and public offerings, mergers & acquisitions, SEC filings and reports, venture capital, joint ventures, business formations, and licensing and other technology transactions.
Prior to joining CLG, Greg was a partner at Virtual Law Partners LLP. Before joining CLG, in 2004, Greg founded Vantage Counsel LLC, one of the first virtual law firms, and before that was a partner with Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel in Honolulu Hawaii, where he practiced for 16 years. Greg began his private practice in 1988 as a corporate lawyer with Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro (now known as Pillsbury Winthrop). Prior to joining Pillsbury, Greg received a one-year appointment as law clerk for the Honorable Herbert Y. C. Choy, Ninth Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals.
Greg is committed to community service. Greg is a founding board member of HiBEAM, an accelerator program for emerging technology companies, and served as a founding director of the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Hawaii. Greg serves on the advisory boards of the University of Hawaii Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship (PACE) and Chaminade University Hogan School of Business, is an entrepreneurship-in-residence at Punahou School, a professional-in-residence at PACE, and teaches an entrepreneurship and small business clinic at the University of Hawaii Richardson School of Law. Greg also served as an adjunct professor at Chaminade University, teaching entrepreneurship in the Hogan program. Greg served as the Chair of the Business Law Section of the Hawaii Bar, and is the principal draftsperson of the Hawaii Business Corporation Act. Greg is also the founder of Business Law Corps, a legal nonprofit focused on helping deserving entrepreneurs with pro bono corporate and business law services.
Greg received a BS in Engineering and Applied Sciences from Yale University in 1979 and earned his JD/MBA at the U.C. Berkeley, in 1983. Greg is recognized as a leading corporate attorney by Best Lawyers of America and Chambers USA.
