Attorney Jill L. Uehara was born and raised in Wailuku, Hawaii.
She is a graduate of St. Anthony Jr./Sr. High School.
In 2010, Jill earned a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University in Politics with a Certificate in African Studies. At Princeton, Jill was an active member of the Cap and Gown Club as well as a member of the Lightweight Crew team.
During college, Jill interned for Senator Daniel Inouye in Washington D.C.
After graduation from Princeton, Jill moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to pursue a Master’s degree in Health Management Systems from Duquesne University.
In 2014, Jill returned to Hawaii to pursue her dream of becoming an attorney in her home state. Jill enrolled at William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2015. While in law school, Jill was on the Executive Board of the Asian Pacific Law and Policy Journal as Publications Editor. She was also a member of the honors fraternity, Phi Delta Phi. In 2018, Jill was awarded with the American Jurisprudence Award in Trusts and Estates.
After several internships with the Honolulu Prosecutor’s Office, Jill moved to Maui to clerk for the Chief Administrative Judge of the Second Circuit Court in Hawaii, the Honorable Richard T. Bissen Jr. After her clerkship ended in 2019, Jill served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in the County of Maui until March of 2020 in the District Court of the Second Circuit of Hawaii.
Jill worked as an associate attorney for the Attorneys for Freedom law firm and McKeon Sheldon Mehling before starting her firm Maui Law LLLC in February of 2022.
Jill is licensed to practice in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, Hawaii Federal District Court, and Hawaii State Courts.
Jill is a Director of the Young Lawyers Division of the Hawaii State Bar Association and a Director of the Maui County Bar Association.
In her free time Jill enjoys going to the beach with her dog Sullivan and is an avid Pittsburgh Penguins hockey fan.
