Poor attorney for litigated divorces

He gave us erroneous information during the settlement negotiations. He ignored tax implications. He made errors completely reversing the negotiated agreement in the QDRO instructions. He would not pursue fraudulent activity on the part of the ex, specifically hiding assets and forgery. He stated t...hat he makes it a practice to keep himself removed and not care about his clients.

It’s unfortunate that it seems you were not able to set aside the judgment or obtain a mutually agreeable resolution of your matter with the opposing party. When you enter into a settlement agreement, it’s important that you have properly evaluated all costs and benefits to ensure that the agreement meets your particular needs. As we have discussed, once a settlement agreement is signed and entered as a court order, it can only be set aside if certain criteria are met. I’m sorry that you feel you were not aware of certain tax implications. However, for an attorney to be able to advise you concerning the favorability of a proposed settlement agreement, you first need to make your attorney aware of your goals and future plans. Based on your stated goals and the information with which I was provided by you, the settlement agreement reached provided you with a much more favorable result than could have been achieved at trial, and, based on your stated goals, did not have any negative tax consequences for you. While I do make it a point not to become too personally invested in my client’s matters so that I am able to provide them with clear and objective advice, I strive to develop positive working relationships with my clients so that we able to work together to develop strategies on how to best deal with each individual issue and tailor a specific plan to meet each client’s individual needs. Additionally, I take pride in helping my clients understand the process and guiding them through to a favorable resolution. My goal is always to have satisfied clients who are in a much better position when their case has concluded than when they first came to me for advice. Additionally, I did not draft any QDRO concerning your matter so I cannot comment on that portion of your review. I wish you the best in your future endeavors.

divorce with dignity and compassion

Divorce can be a lengthy, scary, and difficult process. My first divorce team (with a different firm) sadly proved all those points. When I met with Craig and his team halfway through the divorce process, he asked all the difficult questions with compassion and navigated quickly though the final step...s. Everyone was thorough and anticipated any of my personal concerns down to new health insurance information that I had no idea to use while in divorce-limbo. The team never worked FOR me, but rather worked WITH me and shared their time-tested best practices while preparing for the court date... including preparation and organizing of all the information and documents necessary to see the process to the end. Communication was immediate, concise, and clear despite a system that prides itself on legalese. Throughout our meetings both in his office and in court, it was obvious that Craig's friendly demeanor and experience had the respect of his colleagues and even asking for advice while sitting in court. The day of, Craig calmed me down and I knew the good/bad/ugly scenarios to expect... and although (thankfully) my divorce ended easily, I know without a doubt that if it ended any other way Craig would work with me on the next steps to take. I am soooo pleased with Craig and his team's professionalism, competence, and compassion that I have ALREADY recommended him to another friend.

Craig Weaver -Outstanding Caring Attorney

Craig has been extremely professional and reliable through out my 3 year litigation case. Craig truly listened and responded quickly and thoroughly to any questions that I had throughout a very stressful time in my life. I highly recommend Mr. Weaver for any divorce litigation matters.

Look no further, Craig C. Weaver is the only Family Law attorney to retain...

Craig has been at my side representing me in a very complicated case for over three years. He has researched, confirmed with other firms/attorneys and reached out to international firms for answers to my complicated case. My case deals with an international family support case. This support orde...r is being enforced by the State of California, against the laws of the State and the laws of the Federal Government. Craig has researched and represented me in over 10 trails in regards to this support case. This case is now in the hands of another attorney, and apelet specialist, that Craig advised me of. Once this case is decided in the apelet court...it will be a presiding case. Craig will make this happen. I am in a governmental career field that deals with many attorneys, but I have never had the privilege of meeting or working with an attorney that has Craig's "bed side manner". He is compassionate, empathetic and extremely understanding. Craig has proven, time and again, that he is more interested in a positive outcome for his client than the amount of money he can make from his client. There was a time during my case that I was having I hard time to keep up with the payments, due to the unfair support case. I mentioned this to Craig and with out hesitation he spoke to his firm and worked a very amicable payment plan with me. I would recommend Craig C. Weaver to anyone that needs assistance in California Family Law. In fact, I would welcome anyone to call me or email me and I will share all my great experiences with Craig.
