Michael Howard Wells

I went to Mr. Wells regarding a tenant/slumlord dispute. I had been withholding rent (banking it as per protocol) and my landlady tried to evict me -- despite the county coming out and finding over 2 dozen major health and safety violations. I simply wanted to avoid a lawsuit, but found out that I... had a potential lawsuit myself -- and because of the severity of the violations could have sued and owned the house I had been renting for many years. But Mr. Wells did not push me in any direction (even though he could have also made a lot of money had he helped me sue). He simply told me all the options, and advised me on how to proceed. I chose not to sue, but walked away with my dignity intact and no eviction on my credit history, and got to keep the rent that I had been withholding, which helped me find a better place to live. (My landlady later seemed grateful that I hadn't "sued the pants off her"). I got the very clear sense that Mr. Wells is one of the few people left in the world who lives his life with integrity and has a strong sense of justice -- and isn't just in it for the money. Bravo, Mr. Wells!
