I’m free because of him!

I want to start off with that this man is very straightforward and can come off as a jerk, but He tells it like it is and doesn’t sugarcoat anything. I didn’t think I was going to get anywhere with him, we butted heads a couple times, but i kept reminding myself that he deals with some intense cases ...and some pretty crazy people on a day to day basis. I stayed calm, called him when I had any questions and just had faith in his work and stayed out of his hair. I was facing a couple serious felony charges and as of today, my charges were dropped and my case was dismissed. Every time I went to court I would hear people yelling and arguing with him, and I must say, this man has a lot on his plate. He has no problem giving the same energy back that you come to court with. He was appointed to me so I know a lot of people think we are all just a “case to him” but he tells it like it is. Everything he told me the DA and the court was gonna say and look at, they did. No “ if, and’s or buts” Everything he told me was true. There’s only so much he can do to defend. But he stood his ground with my case and I’m so grateful to be at home with my family. You have to have thick skin and be prepared to hear the truth if you’re appointed to him but all I can say is give him some faith, give him time and patience and let him do his job. I didn’t think I would have ever heard those words in court today, but I did. He’s a good man and a good public defender you just gotta have some faith in him because at the beginning I really didn’t, he knows what he’s doing.

Horrible

Worse attorney ever. How can a labor attorney defend a criminal case ? Makes no attempt to help you nor bothers to keep you informed of your case. Sits in court agreeing with the DA and not defending you. You are not treated as a person but a case to get over with and filed away. Get anyone else but ...Carlos

Never again

I will never have this public pretender as my legal advocate ever again, and I’d suggest you do the same. Worst public pretender to ever exist

Review of Chris Calos

I am a retired law enforcement officer from California. I served the people of California for 23 years. The day after my 50th birthday, when I became eligible to retire, my now, ex-wife had me arrested for domestic violence. She had been secretly recording our verbal arguments for 2+ years. I spe...nt 2.5 years in jail and prison after taking my case to trial. Attorney Chris Carlos charged me 30K to go to trial. He refused to talk to me by telephone while I was incarcerated, and had asked me to write him letters, which he rarely responded to. He refused to request a change of venue to move the trial from the small county I was charged in, and worked in, for 14 years. He stated that he did not know the prosecutor trying my case, failing to tell me that he had served as the neighboring county’s deputy district attorney. He pressured me out of having my children testify in trial, which would have cleared my name. One week before trial, he had not contacted any of my character witnesses until I begged him to do so. He had told me, “It will be your word against hers.” He failed to put any effort into this case. There is so much more. I highly do not recommend attorney Chris Carlos.
