I earned my BA in Communication and English in 1999 from the University of California, Davis. I moved to Sacramento to work as a political fundraiser for Sandino Consulting from 2000 to 2002. I then went to work for the CA State Legislature from 2002 to 2005, initially as a Legislative Aide for Assembly member Simon Salinas. I was later promoted to Legislative Director. When Assembly member Salinas left the legislature, I went to work for the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence, a non-profit, statewide domestic violence coalition in Sacramento, as the Public Policy Program Manager from 2005 to 2006. During this time frame between 2000 and 2005, I served as a volunteer for with the Sacramento Court Appointed Special Advocates Program where she advocated in court for the best interests of children in the foster care system.
Wanting to pursue my lifetime goal of becoming an attorney to advocate for the rights of others, I enrolled at Lincoln Law School in 2005. To gain practical legal experience, I began working in the law firm of Dreyer Babich Buccola Wood Campora as a Law Clerk in 2006 while attending school. While in law school, I, along with my co-counsel classmate Natasha Cooper, won the Best Trial Advocacy Award for Best Team.
A few months after law school graduation, I tried my first case (as a certified law clerk) with Roger Dreyer in Lopez v. DAV Charities, a catastrophic brain injury case in Fresno which resulted in an eight-figure verdict for our client. I was admitted to the CA State Bar in 2009 and continued to work at the firm. In 2012 I was again co-counsel with Roger Dreyer in Arenas v. UPS, a wrongful death case in Sacramento which resulted in a seven-figure verdict for our clients. I currently continues to work directly with Roger Dreyer representing injured victims and families that have lost loved ones.
I am also active in Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) in its effort to effect positive change in the law as it relates to consumer rights and the rights of injured victims to obtain justice. Aside from participating in CAOC’s legislative efforts, I recently graduated from its Leadership Academy through a partnership with the New Leaders Council. The Leadership Academy trains promising lawyers from firms throughout the state to be leaders in their firms, CAOC and in their communities.
When I am not working and advocating for the rights of others, I am spending time with my family, including my two children, ages four and six.

Helpful and understanding
Ms. Esparza took my case even though it was a small case. Knowing she was on my side allowed me to heal and recover from my car accident without having to worry about fighting with the other party's insurance company. Communication was a bit spotty due to her schedule but she came through for me H...
