Mark Alan Campbell

Mark A. Campbell has been representing his client’s interests before juries, judges, and arbitrators since he was admitted to practice in 1980.

Mr. Campbell’s career began in Southern California. Upon admission to the Bar in 1980, he rapidly gained jury trial experience as a member of the criminal defense firm of Varner and Fraser. In 1982 he joined Bolton, Dunn, and Moore, an AV rated insurance defense firm located in downtown Los Angeles where his practice areas included professional liability, complex multi-party mass tort, construction defect, and personal injury litigation.

In 1984, Mr. Campbell moved to Sacramento and became an associate with the insurance defense firm of Bolling, Walter & Gawthrop, advancing to shareholder in 1988. While with that firm, Mr. Campbell primarily engaged in the defense of lawyers, real estate agents and brokers, insurance agents and brokers, health care providers and insurance companies.

In 1991, Mark Campbell left Bolling, Walter & Gawthrop to pursue a solo practice emphasizing litigation of real estate, business, professional liability, and liability insurance disputes. From 1993 to 1997, he continued in the same areas of practice but in partnership with a tax attorney and an appellate lawyer. He then returned to his own “AV” rated general civil litigation practice emphasizing real estate, business, professional liability, intellectual property, probate, trust, personal injury and insurance disputes. During that period, he served as House Counsel for Idiom, Inc., a software company, gaining experience with software development, licensing, and related intellectual property issues. He began to practice with George Murphy, Doug Alliston in 2001 at Farmer, Murphy, Smith & Alliston, and in 2007 was one of the founders of Murphy, Campbell, Alliston & Quinn.
