Suzanne Michelle Nicholson

Suzanne Nicholson is a 1998 graduate of the University of California Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. Ms. Nicholson is admitted to practice in Alaska (1998), California (2000) and Washington (2008). She is also admitted to practice in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, and several District Courts in California.

In 2013, Ms. Nicholson became a Certified Specialist in Civil Appellate Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization.

During law school, Ms. Nicholson served as a judicial extern for then Associate Justice Connie Callahan at the California Court of Appeal, Third Appellate District in Sacramento. Upon graduation, Ms. Nicholson worked as an Assistant Public Defender in her home state of Alaska, handling dependency and delinquency cases in the Bethel office, which serves the entire southwestern region of the state. In 2000, Ms. Nicholson returned to California and began working with George Murphy doing civil appeals at Farmer, Murphy, Smith & Alliston. She joined Murphy, Campbell, Alliston & Quinn at its inception in 2007.

In 2018, Ms. Nicholson started her own firm, emphasizing appeals and writs. Over the course of her career, Ms. Nicholson has written over 100 appellate briefs, petitions for rehearing, petitions for review, and petitions for writs of mandate. She has worked on cases involving a wide range of issues leading to several published opinions.

Ms. Nicholson also has wide-ranging litigation experience in insurance coverage and bad faith actions, real estate and contract disputes. She often works with trial counsel to ensure that issues are properly presented and preserved in the event of an appeal.
