Family court is not where I wanted to be. With so many questions and variables surrounding my case, Mr. Roy was able to help me feel more settled and comfortable before going into court. His understanding of family law and strategies were so spot on. He is a real professional and not out to just milk... you for your money. Matthew Roy came highly recommended from my pastor who wanted me to reconsider going through the bankruptcy process on my own. The recommendation was so strong I remember thinking what a good friend to help him get clients. That was not the case. Mr. Roy has no need of help getting clients. Hi...s Law Office does well because of his reputation and his track record. I am happy to be on the list of those who can vouch that he is a sharp attorney and a good guy all around. My file is about twice the size of his other clients. I did not know this for sure until after we were done and he was answering my question about it. He never was bothered by this (or at least didn’t show it). I wish I could say the same. I was moaning about the mountains of information Mr. Roy kept requesting – and the detail and specificity he wanted seemed a bit much at times. On more than one occasion, Mr. Roy had to follow up with me multiple times about something he requested from me. I am impressed and a bit envious how Matthew was able to size me up. Even though he didn’t know me very well, Matthew knew what I needed to hear – or I guess how I needed to hear it (words of grace, or more of a tone of encouragement/challenge, and somedays it was a kick in the pants). My day in court finally came and I was looking forward to this ending. Excitement turned to anxiety as I listened to the cases prior to mine being called. I began to worry as each person had something that needed attention. There was a form missing or a document incorrectly filled out, or questions about accounting paperwork submitted to the court that was vague. Some things were big some seemed small, but, ALL of them required a continuance of their case to another court date, so that they can fix, add, or clarify whatever it was that was causing them to have to come back next month & try it again. My case eventually was called and I was bracing for more requests. The trustee’s tone changed a bit as he says that my file has been received and he is able to confirm that it is both complete and clear. And, because of that, the court has no further questions for me and my application was approved. Mr. Roy smiled and as he shook my hand he tells me; “And that is exactly why I asked you to do all that I asked you to do. Because if you do it right... you get it done!” You can feel confident that you are getting a sharp attorney, who has attention to detail, great people skills, and an ability to get it done!
