Gay is very knowledgable about employment laws and realistic about what she could do in my case. She did give me some new information. However, on the negative side, despite asking what the fees would be prior to having an assessment done (for close to $400) I was told it would depend on my case. A...fter paying for & going through the assessment process, she then told me her standard non-refundable retainer is $5,000 plus. While the assessment was very thourough and I believe she works hard for those she represents I would have liked to have known what her retainer fees were ahead time. Had I known, I probably would not have met with her. For anyone working with the public, I believe an attorney's retainer fees should be stated up front; but I don't know if this is a standard practice with attorney's as a whole. To be fair, I also believe she has helped several clients achieve their goals and is a very good attorney. I would recommend her to others seeking an employment lawyer.
