Garrett Mitchell Penney

Garrett is a California native. He spent 2 years living in Peru where he became fluent in Spanish. Garrett attended Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, Utah on scholarship where he received his BA in Spanish and earned his Juris Doctorate Degree from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at BYU. While attending law school on scholarship, Garrett clerked for Utah’s 4th District Court where he researched and wrote bench memos for the judges. He also clerked for a Salt Lake City personal injury law firm representing mostly Spanish-speaking clients where he had extensive communication with clients while preparing their cases for settlement and litigation. In 2017, Garrett joined Penney & Associates as a law clerk assisting some of the top trial attorneys in California with case review and trial preparation.

After passing the California Bar in 2019, Garrett is now an associate attorney working with Penney & Associates’ lead trial attorney representing victims of auto accidents, slip and falls, wrongful deaths, dog bites, and other personal injury claims. Garrett has since been admitted to practice in the United States Federal District Court, Central District of California and has recovered millions of dollars for his clients.

Garrett grew up very active in the Boy Scouts of America. He earned his Eagle Scout at the age of 14 with over 90 merit badges (only 21 are required). He continues to live the Scout Law which states, “A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.” Garrett diligently applies this principal in his representation of clients while aggressively fighting to maximize their recovery during the negotiation and trial process.

He enjoys his family, basketball, and scuba diving.

Garrett nació y creció en el estado de California. Pasó 2 años viviendo en Perú, donde aprendió hablar español con fluidez. Después de pasar la Barra del Estado de California en 2019, Garrett es ahora un abogado asociado trabajando junto al principal abogado litigante principal de Penney & Associates representando a víctimas de accidentes automovilísticos, resbalones y caídas, muertes por negligencia, mordeduras de perros y otros reclamos por lesiones personales.

Garrett creció muy activo en los Boy Scouts of America. Obtuvo su Eagle Scout a la edad de 14 años con más de 90 insignias de mérito (solo se requieren 21).
