In the Interest of A.M., a Child; Gregg County, Texas
Jun 25, 2013OUTCOME: Judge found that there was some degree of parental alienation going on. He further found the medical neglect particularly disturbing. Father was named the conservator having the right to determine the primary residence of the child.
In this custody case, my client is the father of a 12 year old girl who lives with her mother. Mother lives in Gregg County and my client lives about 4.5 hours away. The child maintains that she wishes ... to stay with mom. At trial, the amicus attorney appointed for the child recommends that she stay with mom. The child's counselor testified that the child was doing well in Gregg County. Despite those odds, we tried the case to the judge, claiming parental alienation by mom against dad and by highlighting some medical neglect by mom against the child.
