Helen Lou Marsh

Helen grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota and attended college at Hamline University, where her father was a history professor. She headed to California to attend law school at the University of California, Berkeley, where she was co-chair of the Moot Court Board.

After graduation, she practiced law in Denver for a number of years before returning to the Bay Area and settling in Sonoma to raise her family. She worked in San Francisco with two top tier law firms and relocated her practice to Sonoma in 2009.

Helen has focused on litigation since graduating from law school. She has practiced in state and federal courts in California, Colorado and around the country. She is a frequent presenter at conferences for lawyers regarding a variety of topics. With offices in Santa Rosa and Sonoma, she provides top quality legal services to individuals and businesses in the Sonoma Valley and along with 101 corridor.

Currently, Helen focuses on Education Law (special education and student discipline) and overtime cases. In education matters, she emphasizes the student's need to access a free and appropriate public education as required by law.  In addition, she handles matters involving student discipline.  In overtime matters, Helen provides advice to employers and employees.  She handles litigiation both in court and before the Labor Board.  The overtime cases are either in state court or before the Labor Board.  She represents both employers and employees.

Additionally, Helen advises employees on severance agreements and other matters relating to termination of employment.
