I was passing through the community of Angel's Camp, California in Feb of 2022 when I came up behind what I believed to be a slow moving vehicle driven by someone who was elderly. After following for 3/4 of a mile or so, I slowly moved left into a turning lane and passed the vehicle. Turns out that ...that SUV was driven by Calaveras County Sheriff's officer who was driving in an unmarked vehicle. She turned on her lights, pulled me over, and handed me a misdemeanor charge for reckless driving. To say that I was a bit stunned would be an understatement. Fortuitously, during my first court hearing, I was assigned April Asbell as my attorney. Within a few days, I spoke with her and found her to be on-point, intelligent, and professional. April was my Lawyer for two move away orders. One was in 2018 so i could move with my kids to Florida and then the other one just wrapped up this December for a move away to Idaho sense i wasn't able to move to Florida. She won them both for Me. She is very personable, she does her homework and she m...akes sure she has all the info she needs before she goes into court. She knows her laws and if she doesn't she will learn them.
