Margaret Mary Johnston

This was my first time going to family court, so everything was new. Going to her out of good faith from a family friend; I trusted her. As I poured out my heart to her, she was non-responsive and cold. I figured it was in her nature to see in black and white. I went forward with her plan of actio...n. After I paid half the retainer she sent out a letter; to continue to go forward I would have to dish out $1500. I decided to move forward, which was quite a big deal for me since all the financial burden is on my back. After seeing Ms. Johnston she advised me to not go forward with a modification, that I would be at risk to losing more custody of my child. Which doesn't make any sense since I am the primary parent. I decided to get my retainer back and not go forward with going to court at this time. I felt since she is my attorney, That I am protected. WRONG!! She gave me back $300 out of the $1500, then says" You should have read the contract." These guys are not in the business to help you, but hustle you out of your hard worked money, while they sit on their asses.

I really liked her as an attorney, however when I needed her assistance again she said knowing all of the history of the case she would help me out. I called to retain her a week later and she would not take my case. I was really upset because I thought I could count on her. I had to find an att...orney that would help me and stay with me until my daughter was of age so her biological father would stop taking me to court. Margaret was my attorney for the first round, it would of been nice to have the same attorney through out the years. Found a new attorney and was very pleased, he stuck with me and helped me until the end.
