At first she was for me then 18 months later she flipped

This was over ten years ago but still affecting my life. Patricia was good at first but then I could tell I wasn't getting any updates. She never contacted me to finish my deposition, but she did surprise my husband and I with "hey you need to call this place JAMS and pay them today!" We call an...d the total was $1400! Pat never called us to go over what to say and what not to say. She took us on contingeny right away first day we spoke, she offered. I seen Pat once more then never again. Pat flipped and was saying things I just could not believe it . She wasted 18 months of our time the entire time telling us JURY TRIAL DEMANDED then she backs out of it and says to us "I'M not going to trial"! Then a week or so later we receive a yellow envelope with a demand of payment. Then on Halloween 3 days later another yellow envelope from Pat I open it and it said "we made a mistake", so now the price was $10,000 less than the first demand.! A mistake, a mistake is maybe $37 dollars but $10,000!. She did nothing really for me. Sure glad to see she is with a FIRM I told her "being a lawyer isn't just knowing the definitions". Then she said "I' will take a Lien out on your home if you don't pay me" as we were leaving. She told me a lot of things that were outta line . She said "Judges have more important cases to handle!", and I said "My House is very important to US everyone's case matter's . I told her "I believed in you Pat, you don't believe in herself." No lawyer's would take our case because it was too late. I hope she learned from us, I know I learned A LOT how people are just out for them selves. I hope that over these 10 years she's learned, I know I have. Patricia didn't continue to be our lawyer because she filed something to release herself.." Right when the case is about to start ,makes you wonder. I forgive her , nobody is perfect. I wish her luck.

Extraordinarily rude

I had 30-minute consultation call with Patricia Boyes last week to ask a question regarding a lease signing and it's legality and I have never been treated so poorly and hostility in my life when paying for a service. Immediately and loudly said she couldn't hear, couldn't understand what I was tryin...g to "pull over", and then finally said: oh, this is just about money. Why didn't you say that. I Immediately terminated the conversation after 5 minutes and suggest that unless you feel like being humiliated for asking a legal question, choose a different lawyer.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
