Anna Demidchik

I was referred to Demidchik Law Firm from my friend. I had very bad experience with my previous lawyer so I was looking for a good immigration lawyer. And obviously, she is the one I was looking for, I really appreciate with her service. She explained to me the immigration law, proceedings of my case... and always talks to me about my case. I would definitely recommend Anna Demidchik to my friends.

Signed the retainer between 4-5 PM on July 27th, then they presumably clocked out without doing a single thing. Next morning they sent their first text at 9 AM, and at 10 AM I had a 9-minute call with the first attorney. I felt I couldn't trust him, so I asked to be assigned a different attorney. ...At that point my attitude was perfectly normal and there was zero conflict between me and the attorney. Then I got into it with their case manager. She acted like it was a forced sale — take it or leave it, no options. She also apparently has zero legal knowledge, because when she started screaming at me and I informed her I would be recording the call, she didn't stop yelling AND told me recording was illegal. California is a two-party consent state — I gave explicit notice, which made the recording entirely legal. The fact that a case manager at a law firm doesn't even know basic recording consent law tells you everything you need to know about the legal competence of this office. At that point the relationship was completely dead. They sent a termination email the same day. But attached to it was a clause requiring me to sign a statement saying I had no complaints, no grievances, and wouldn't leave negative reviews — only then would they process my refund. That is absolutely against the spirit of the law. I refused to sign. I gave them five business days to process the refund. They went completely silent. After five business days I filed a complaint with the State Bar and sued them in court. Days later they resurfaced with a brand new excuse — claiming they needed court permission to withdraw representation before they could issue a refund. I submitted every single one of their excuses as additional evidence to the State Bar. Now waiting on the State Bar investigation and the court hearing. One last thing: the law says money for work you never performed is not your money. No court is going to stop you from withdrawing representation either. So what exactly is your purpose in withholding these funds? Maybe you're just addicted to bullying people? Does your unethical experience tell you that if you hold people's money hostage they'll panic and be too scared to fight back? Consider this a warning to anyone seeking legal representation — stay far away from this firm.
