I paid this attorney a $4,000 retainer fee up front, and ended up paying another $2,000 on a totally uncontested divorce. It was absolutely ridiculous. He stated at our first meeting there were different charges depending if he worked on my case (which he verified he would be), vs a bit lower charges... if an associate or paralegal worked on my case. I never dealt with him, always others, yet was charged his fees.
