Practice area

Michelle Tidalgo, a founding partner of Morgan Tidalgo Sukhodrev & Azzolino LLP and a Certified Family Law Specialist, is an experienced trial lawyer who practices family law exclusively, focusing on diverse financial issues including business valuation, property division and child and spousal support. Ms. Tidalgo also represents clients in difficult custody disputes. Before the founding of Morgan Duffy-Smith & Tidalgo LLP in 2008, she spent part of her career practicing civil litigation and handling cases involving claims of unfair competition, breach of contract, fraud, trade secret misappropriation and employment law with a management orientation. Ms. Tidalgo began to practice family law exclusively in 2006, and has focused on this area of law since that time. Ms. Tidalgo’s civil litigation background results in the smooth management of her family law cases as they progress to trial. Her attention to detail and knowledge of the intricacies of civil procedure enable her to strategically plan her cases and prepare for settlement or trial in a way that ensures that clients are receiving the best and most comprehensive representation available.

Ms. Tidalgo attended law school at Santa Clara University, graduating in 1997. She received her undergraduate degree at San Jose State University. Ms. Tidalgo has been actively involved in the legal community since she began practicing law and has focused particularly on women and the law. Ms. Tidalgo’s commitment to the legal profession and her support of women in the profession is evidenced by her involvement in many bar-related activities. She is Past President of the Women Lawyers Committee of the Santa Clara County Bar Association and has also been a member of Queen’s Bench and California Women Lawyers. She has organized seminars and panel discussions related to women in the law for local bar associations. She has served as a Judicial Arbitrator for the Santa Clara Superior Court’s Arbitration Program as well as a Judge Pro Tempore for the Santa Clara County Superior Court. She is also a member of the San Mateo County Bar Association.
