Daniel Burt Halpern

I retained this Daniel Halpren to represent my son in a custody case in August. He was very knowledgable and had great references. Mr. Halpren met with my son one time and made one 1/2 hour court appearance. When my son was set to go back to court my son keep trying to contact Mr. Halpren. We sent le...tters, faxes, emails - nothing. In searching the internet we found out Daniel Halpren had been arrested for embezzlement in October 2012. He was released on bond. He could have a least made contact with my son to explain and offer a refund of his retainer. My son is out several thousand dollars and left without an attorney.

He kept me in the dark for the entire case. He told me not to worry at all, he will take care of everything. He went to the court without me, got new date of hearing and never informed me. My ex got ex-party divorce. I came to know I am officially divorced one year later. He allowed the house get sol...d. I objected the sale of the house and was waiting for his response. He neither responded to my email nor to the opposite counsel. He was inattentive and disrespectful to the client. Because of his failure of submitting paper correctly and promptly, I was sanctioned. He is a lair!!!!!!!! His stuffs are also incompetent and liar! He is incompetent, irresponsible, does not keep the client informed on the important date, he will call the client the day before the hearing and ask to get the information. He will submit incomplete documents without thoroughly understanding it. Because of his irresponsible action, I lost financially as well as emotionally. His action negatively impacted me in the court system. He sits on the case. Does not take any action, hence it is cost effective. But if you have child, and other side have competent litigant, STAY AWAY FROM HIM! He will sink you financially. He may not take your money, you will end up paying other party for his misconduct as well as you will lose what could be yours!!!!!!!!!!!
