Knowledgable and compassionate representation.
Sage focuses her law practice in the areas of family law and criminal defense, including criminal record expungement. Prior to establishing her private law practice, Sage worked for the Federal Public Defender's office in Sacramento as a certified law student, representing indigent clients charged with federal misdemeanors. Sage taught law curriculum for the Ascend Program, a rehabilitation and reentry program empowering people to live law-abiding lives and providing educational tools to overcome hurdles to employment, college, transportation, and housing.
During law school, Sage co-founded the Peer Court program at Natomas Pacific Pathways high school, where she trained students in public speaking, client counseling, sentencing negotiations, and trial skills - supervising students in defending, prosecuting, and judging discipline cases for grades 6 through 12. Sage also participated as an instructor for the Fresh Lifelines for Youth Law Program in Santa Clara county, which endeavors to help our young people understand the consequences of crime and inspires them to change behaviors that could act as barriers to future success.
Before law school, Sage worked in the trial department of McDermott Will & Emery LLP in Palo Alto, contributing to a parole memo which won the freedom of a Northern California Innocence Project client, and spent several years working with the Mural Music & Arts Project to educate, empower and inspire youth through the arts.
