Pascal Anthony Anastasi

I am a Business Lawyer with real Experience in Business.  My practice also includes Living Trust and estate planning service packages.  

I started practicing in 1986 with my father, Anthony J. Anastasi, who was a Labor law attorney representing clients like Lockheed, FMC, the San Jose Hospitals, Bus Lines and Taxi companies.  In 1997, I became a sole practitioner, representing a wide array of small businesses (from Computer Software Architects to Bakers).  In 2002, I joined one of my clients and his numerous corporations for a five year period.  I then restarted my private practice and am continuing to enjoy life as sole practitioner.

Between 2002 and 2007, I worked with as Vice President of FSSCO, Inc. and was Vice President of several other related corporations.  Collectively, the entities included a Northern California distribution business, a National brand and marketing company, a Manufacturing operation in the Yucatan and a Real Estate Investment company.  In addition to handling all of the legal matters, I was actively involved in Marketing, Sales, Finance and Accounting.  I was largely responsible for the operational budget.  Due to the economic downturn, I felt that it was in the best interest of the company to remove myself from the entities as an employee and re-established an outside counsel role on a retainer basis (part-time).

Definitely my work experience between 2002 and 2007 helped me to develop a true understanding of business issues, demands and expectations and balance those against legal counseling and services performed within legal standards.  Lawyers are often "deal killers" because they attempt to avoid all risk.  In business, risk is a way of life.  I enjoyed working with the delicate balance between covering you legal bases and taking sufficient risk to be successful in business.

I enjoy working with small business owners and people starting a new business.  They are at a serious disadvantage in our system because they are bound by most of the same laws and regulations that  apply to Fortune 500 companies...but those companies have hundreds of lawyers working for them. 

My practice is focused on providing affordable Business Law & Estate Planning services. 

In Business Law, I handle the full spectrum of general legal services for business needs.  This includes entity selection, formation of the entity, contracts, forms and related agreements to protect the business, and importantly, all employment related matters.  I have spent five years in business management roles and am very sensitive to issue of cost-benefit analysis.  The real world of business requires sensible costs that are within budget, while achieving quality legal services toward the desired objective.

I also enjoy estate planning and preparing Living Trusts for individuals, partners and married couples of all ages.  Most all of my clients feel a sense of relief when they have made firm decisions with respect to who they want to be in charge of their assets and how they want the assets distributed.  While it is not an easy subject to address, getting it done is so important for those the love and care about.

In Estate Planning, I find that the majority of my clients need or desire a Living Trust because they want their heirs to avoid the time, lack of privacy and expenses associated with Probate Court.
