Joseph Edward Tomasik

My clients greatly appreciate the communication, honesty and respect that I show them from the minute they walk in the door.  As a former insurance company attorney, I know their techniques for fighting cases, and I am able to help my clients navigate their way to achieve great results. 

I received my B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1982, and my J.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1986.  After working for large firms for several years, I opened my own law firm in downtown Berkeley in January 1994, handling exclusively plaintiffs' personal injury and insurance litigation.  I am very passionate about communicating with my clients and zealously representing their interests, as well as being involved in the plaintiff's bar.

I serve on the Board of Governors for Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) and Alameda-Contra Costa Trial Lawyers Association (ACCTLA).  I am a member of American Association for Justice (AAJ), the State Bar of California, and the State Bar of Wisconsin.  I stay informed in my areas of emphasis by attending three days of seminars at the CAOC's Annual San Francisco Convention.  I also attend the ACCTLA's Annual Year In Review of the most recent breaking cases and changes in the law, along with numerous other continuing legal education seminars throughout the year.
