Kristen Alicia Louis

Kristen Louis is a patient and compassionate Oakland, CA estate planning attorney that works closely with her clients to create estate plans that are both financially and personally beneficial for them. Raised in the Bay Area, Kristen left the warmth of California to attend law school at Michigan State University. It was in a second year law class where Kristen realized her passion for estate planning.

Prior to opening her estate planning practice, Kristen worked as a litigation associate at an asbestos firm where she doggedly defended her clients against large corporations. There she discovered that one of the most important aspects of being an excellent attorney is the client relationship, and with the aim to develop closer client contact she decided to transition out of asbestos law. 

Since 2011, Kristen has been dedicated to working with individuals and couples to help them understand the necessity of a well-prepared estate plan. She hosts free seminars for the residents of her Oakland neighborhood where she helps to educate them on the details of estate planning. Kristen takes great pride in making sure that her clients understand the process of creating an estate plan and the documents included within it. She has worked with people of all ages to create estate plans protecting their assets for the future of their children, determining how their children will be cared for in the event of their death and writing their final wishes. She understands that talking about death is difficult, but she strives to make discussing it as comfortable as possible while navigating your estate planning needs.

In her spare time, Kristen enjoys spending time with her family, her friends and her ever grumpy dog. Always one to be outdoors, Kristen often goes hiking and to the beach to marvel at the beauty of the Bay Area.
