For years I battled to get SSDI. I suffer from a rare condition that most specialists won't touch with a 10-ft pole, it's been difficult to get them to say (or do) anything about my case. In addition, because of the "pre-existing" condition (was born with it), I couldn't afford the $14,400 yearly Cob...ra health insurance and thus had not been able to develop doctor-patient relationships, I couldn't even afford the regular tests or some of the medications I was prescribed.
