Jeremy is a reliable and empathetic lawyer. Dealing with a worker compensation case is a very stressful and scary experience, and Jeremy was an essential to helping me navigate the system to get the best care possible and outcome for my case. His early and timely recommendation to choose my workers comp doctor, led to me having an unusually high amount of authorizations for medical care which meant I was able to get most of the medical care my doctors recommended (even if there were long delays at times which is common in this system). At the start of my injury, I couldn't turn a door knob without pain or open some doors without pushing them open with my hips. Now, I can hold my whole body weight on one hand. He did what good lawyers do; be responsive to calls, on top of deadlines, be timely with filing paperwork/other court injunctions, and able to adequately prepare me for a deposition, and explain legal proceedings clearly and effectively. However, more importantly Jeremey is empathetic, understanding, and a good communicator. While all these characteristics might not be what you might typically think of as making a good lawyer, after experiencing them with Jeremy, I believe they are essential in a good worker compensation lawyer. The workers compensation process is long, drawn out, confusing, and I think many who've gone through it would agree- it's traumatic. Tough decisions were thrown my way and painful experiences needed to be rehashed over and over and new challenging experiences and confusing things happened because of this process. Jeremy was recommended by a lawyer on AVVO who I did not know and nobody recommended to me. In other words, I went into this not knowing who I was dealing with. To make matters more complicated, we had recently moved from San Diego to Virginia and had no way of meeting him. We conducted all business ...through email and phone. Jeremy explained the process thoroughly and kept in touch every step of the way. He negotiated with the insurance company in good faith and was able to increase our settlement. He also overcame a last minute bureaucratic venue change by working with the insurance company and another lawyer in San Diego, getting a Judge's approval in days versus a possible 6 to 8 week delay.
