My principal practice areas are immigration, deportation defense, and appellate work in both immigration and criminal defense. In addition, I practice in Social Security Disability Appeals and personal injury claims.
My law review article, published by a legal journal for the University of San Francisco Law School, was cited by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal in an en banc decision.
This article on what constitutes Membership in a Particular Social Group under U.S. asylum law was cited twice in the dissent by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in their recent en banc decision, Henriquez-Rivas v. Holder, 707 F.3d 1081, 1095 (2013).
The title of my article was Defining a Core Zone of Protection in Asylum Law, 10 J.L. & Soc. Challenges 22 (2008).
