Zuly Perez

My professional journey began in the corporate world, where I worked for major Fortune 500 companies. Those experiences helped me develop strong skills in communication, client relations, problem-solving, and organizational management. While I valued the experience I gained in the corporate sector, I ultimately realized that I wanted a career that would allow me to make a more meaningful difference in people’s lives. That realization led me to pursue a legal education and transition into the legal field. I spent eight years working at a criminal defense law firm. First as a paralegal intern, then law clerk, and eventually an attorney. I gained extensive hands-on experience in legal research, case management, client communication, and litigation support. Working closely with clients facing some of the most difficult circumstances of their lives reinforced my passion for the practice of law and for advocating for people when they need help the most.

I later worked at a family law firm, where I saw firsthand how complicated and overwhelming the family law process can be in California. I also came to understand how important it is for attorneys to build strong relationships the client—not simply the billable hour—but focus on the center of the attorney-client relationship.

My experiences ultimately led me to the Personal Family Lawyer Program, where I developed the knowledge and skills necessary to provide thoughtful, personalized estate planning guidance. That experience inspired me to open my own practice, the Law Office of Zuly Perez, with a focus on estate planning and client education.
