Johanna Torres

My husband and I were married in 2014. We were married in 2014. My spouse had been in the United States for 20 years as an undocumented immigrant. At the end of 2017 we hired Johanna on the recommendation of a friend. We are so glad we did. From the start Johanna walked us through the process and tim...eframes to expect. She also made sure we understood the uncertainties in today’s environment and that anything could happen. During the process, Johanna made sure we knew ahead of time what documentation was required. Each meeting with Johanna, she made sure we understood what and why each form was being used. Johanna also provided us templates to use to help organize our responses. Another benefit of Johanna was her command of both the English and Spanish language. While I only spoke English, my spouse’s native language was Spanish. Sometimes explaining things to my spouse was best explained in Spanish. Johanna helped my spouse prepare for his interview, she organized our paper work and told us what to expect and what experiences others had. She told us each person’s experience can be different. We did not realize how important it was to have everything in order and double checked before we got to Juarez, MX. We saw people being turned away from even entering the Embassy because they were missing paper work. We had a nice organized package, and everything went perfect. Johanna emphasized the importance of telling the truth especially at the interview. She told us the interviewer already knows the answers to the questions that they are asking. This became apparent to my spouse while in line to get interviewed. Others were asked questions regarding their arrest records and the interviewer told them she had evidence otherwise and they were denied. Others that were admitting to their records were still approved. After we returned back to the US, Johanna contacted my spouse to learn about our experiences in order to share with others as she had shared with us. We Love Johanna!
