I spent 15 years as a very aggressive civil litigator before finding a calling in family law.    For the first 5 years doing divorce cases, I often fought hard in and out of court for my clients, because we both believed that served them best.    As I've matured in life and in practice (I'm a divorced dad myself), I learned how conflict and aggressive court actions often heighten bad feelings, and block both realistic resolution and healing.

While we do find that judicial input is helpful in some cases, most of my cases are resolved cooperatively, by opening communication and building trust between parties and their attorneys if they have one.  

I have positive relationships with my both my co-parents, and very happy, healthy relationships with grown children, and an 8 year old boy, as well as two young teens who have come to me in my new relationship.  When not parenting, I'm bicycling, motorcycling, engaging in men's circles (ManKind Project, The Men's Circle Berkeley), going to the gym, gardening, hiking, camping and supporting friends and family emotionally and socially.
