Great guy

Excellent Small Business Lawyer

Jeff recently helped us set up an LLC and investigate other legal matters involved in protecting our small business from liability. He is an absolute pleasure to work with, is honest and upfront about time and cost and clearly explains legal mumbo jumbo in ways that we are able to easily understand. He is very knowledgeable about business law and if there are specific issues that fall outside of his expertise he has a large network to consult. I would highly recommend Jeff as an excellent small business lawyer.

Practice areas

I have practiced business law and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) for over twenty-five years. As a business attorney, I assist businesses with formation and planning; purchases and sales of existing businesses; termination of business entities; commercial leasing matters; and employment matters. My other focus is on mediation and arbitration, where I help businesses settle disputes outside of the courtroom.

What I enjoy most about being an attorney is helping people transform their hobbies and passions into successful businesses. Whether I'm helping someone start a restaurant or a software company, I'm always mindful of the goal, which is to take care of the legal aspects of a business pursuit, so my client can focus on growing it. A lot of people think attorneys can get in the way of a transaction, but my philosophy is just the opposite. My job is to help a client achieve his or her goal while avoiding potential pitfalls as much as possible.

Contract Help!

I have a boutique Interior and Event Design Business. I've had a few projects here and there each year, but now that my friends have started to refer my services to more people that I didn't have personal relationships with, I started to worry about the contract language that I had piecemeal together through NOLO. I knew that it was time to get serious about protecting myself. I thought. "How can I expect new clients to take me seriously if I don't have a serious contract?" Jeff Miller was referred to me by a friend and I couldn't be happier with his services. He reviewed my contract within the time frame agreed upon. He really cared about my business and crafted a contract that suited my needs (not a rushed generic contract), and he was willing to answer all of my million questions to put my mind at ease. His knowledgeable and charismatic nature really helped calm my nerves. I very much appreciated being treated like family, which is the way that I treat my clients. He really knows his stuff. I'd refer him over and over again!
