Anne Cochran Freeman

Anne Freeman focuses her practice on all aspects of family law including divorce, legal separation, nullity, child custody, child/spousal/family support, complex asset division, and pre-divorce counseling and planning. Ms. Freeman negotiates and drafts premarital, postmarital and cohabitation agreements, and enjoys providing creative alternative dispute solutions through mediation and settlement negotiations. She represents clients in litigation in public court-houses and before private judicial officers throughout the Bay Area. Ms. Freeman is also available to consult on family law matters. She has served as consulting counsel in matters in California, as well as in matters affecting California domiciliaries in proceedings outside the state.

Prior to joining Sideman & Bancroft,  Ms. Freeman practiced at Whiting, Fallon, Ross & Abel LLP in Walnut Creek, California. Before that, Ms. Freeman  represented clients in EEOC mediations involving alleged discrimination and mediated lawsuits in the small claims courts of San Francisco.

Before becoming an attorney, Ms. Freeman was a management consultant at HayGroup, Inc., where she designed compensation programs, and provided leadership and organizational development consulting for Fortune 500 companies. She was also a director at MediaVast, Inc., a successful Internet start-up.

A child of the U.S. Foreign Service, Ms. Freeman was born on Okinawa, Japan, and was raised in Kobe and Tokyo, Japan; Bangkok, Thailand; Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; and Washington, DC.
