Bruce Grant Nye

I have tried major, significant cases in all of the nine bay area counties and throughout California.  I am a member of Adams Nye Trapani Becht LLP, a premier San Francisco boutique trial law firm. 

In 2002, I helped lead a trial team which successfully won declaratory relief against the State of California under Proposition 65, California’s Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986. In that matter, our firm’s client established that the chemical DEHP posed no significant risk of cancer to humans.

In 2003, I successfully tried a multi-million dollar gender discrimination and sexual harassment case.

I have acted as state-wide court-appointed liaison counsel in the Automobile Advertising Cases ("Dowhal" matters) and In Re Lease Documents Cases (the "Trygar" case).

I am the publisher of, and a frequent blogger at, CalBizLit where I provide current information and perspective about civil litigation in California. I  conduct seminars on toxic torts, product liability, and employment issues.

I have lived in Oakland, California with my wife Risa for many years.  I serve on the board of the Read Aloud Volunteer Program, a non-profit dedicated to bringing a love for reading to underprivileged elementary school children.

I have am a life-long fan of jazz, theater, and, less rationally, the San Francisco Giants, Oakland Athletics and the University of California Golden Bears football team.
